Boxcar Derby The Boxcar Derby – held on a Saturday morning in March, kids of all ages race down South University in home-made wooden box cars and are cheered on by families and college students. The event is a partnership with the University of Michigan Chapter of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.
The Twinkie Run is a 5K race held on April 1st at Gallup Park.  In the spirit of April Fool’s Day, racers get a minute deducted from their final race time for eating a Twinkie. Long live the Twinkie! Twinkie Run
A2A3Buhrswimminglogo The Buhr Park Swimathon is a morning of swimming in July at Buhr Park Pool.  The Buhr Park Sharks swim team swims hundreds of laps and raise thousands of dollars.  Any enthusiastic swimmer is welcome to do their own swimathon.
The Electric Bolt is an 8K run and 5K walk held in late July in partnership with the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC) and the Ann Arbor Track Club.  Runners follow trails through four parks along the Huron River, ending in Kerrytown. Screen shot 2013-07-25 at 9.23.00 PM
ffd Family Field Day is a Sunday afternoon of games and activities held at Burns Park.  Kids and adults of all ages join in relay races, a scavenger hunt, and a variety of sports clinics.  The afternoon also features face painting, petanque, chair massages, and a raffle with enticing items for all ages.

 

Create Your Own are individual initiatives by kids and adults to create their own fundraisers and help cure ALS.  Successful fundraisers have included bake sales, car washes, swimathons, marathons, triathlons, weight lifting, push-ups, dancing, art, silent auctions and more. We can help you plan, train and collect contributions.
